The end of 2009

I feel I have reached a dead end. I have been very grouchy, and irritated lately. This so called "Holiday Season" felt like nothing but a blur to me. I was hoping to enjoy my time off from work, but instead it just turned into more work at home. I did a lot of home made gifts and baking this year. I'm hoping everyone truly appreciates how much hard work it was for me, and how much I do enjoy sharing it with them. But honestly, I know now why everyone else makes lists and buys gifts for each other that they love and care about. It's so they don't loose their minds and drive their families crazy with their insane craziness. I am really hoping to enjoy this week. Because before we know it 2010 will be here, and we will be back in the hustle and bustle of life.
I'm finalizing my 2010 New Years Resolutions:

1. Put God at the top of all priorities
2. Continue to do #1 over and over and over

That basically sums it up. Starting this Sunday, I will be attending Holy Trinity Catholic Church, and will make better "Godly" decisions this year.
I feel that I'm feeling the way I feel because my priorities were not prioritized correctly...

Thanks for reading and keep encouraging me to stay strong, I need it!

So, I'm late...

If you don't know now, then you don't really know me...I'm always late! Late for just about everything! (Ok, not work...at least not too late... :-) )
But better LATE than never right?

Um, lot's of things happening...being sick, H1N1 keeping me home with the kids (not 'cause they had it- I'm so sick of this!), work,work,work...planning Thanksgiving at my parents, pictures, Halloween...seriously...tons going on! Perhaps tomorrow, Veterans Day, I'll update? Nah, who am I kidding, I won't!
Well, until I write again!

Bees vs. Yellow jackets....

Personally WHO CARES WHAT YOU CALL THEM!!!! They creep me out, and hurt when they bite or sting! We have had the 3rd one in our house that I killed today...and not because I wanted to kill it (I was actually freaking out! I called James like 17 times...I started thinking of places I could go to wait it out...you know see if it would die on its own!) Well, anywho, apparently we had some wasp and hornet spray that said "Kills bees and yellow jackets INSTANTLY" somehow that word haunted me...what if on a freak chance it didn't kill it instantly and instead would start chasing me around the house where my kids were?! Not to mention the fact that Ben was screaming his head off 'cause it was six o'clock and that's his dinner time! (Did I mention that the first time we had a yellow jacket in the house it stung him...?! Yea, I was pissed!) Ahhh, it was crazy. But, I finally got the guts up and sprayed it (for like an hour!) and when it fell into the window sill I sprayed it even more...(I was not taking that instantly!)
So, I killed the yellow jacket or bee or whatever and hopefully its friends won't come and find me tomorrow... :-) But at least James will be home then and he'll be able to fight them off, while I go somewhere else with the kids!

Busy...busy...

So for those of you who actually read this, uh...I obviously have not updated in over a month. Life has been even more busy then right after Bentley was born! So here is a quick overview of the last month and a half!

August 10th: The girls had a sleep over at their cousins 'cause they were going camping!!! Yay! This meant I was going to have some extra time to clean (except for taking care of Ben but he's a cake walk!) Well, on Wednesday I got a call from their Aunt, while they were at the Cheese Factory saying they were going to be coming home because of a bee hive near the campsite. Angela was stung and bit a few times, so they called it quits early. That was a bummer for them :-(
And then I also realized that I wasn't going to get everything done that I needed to before leaving for Sun River. It turned out ok, James ended up having the rest of the week off (which meant 2 extra days of his vacation!) and I would also just put the girls to work!
Well, during one of our cleaning episodes (Sat. the 15th to be exact) James was out doing errands and noticed something strange happening to the car (thankfully this was at the end of the errand running and he was on his way to drop off Ginger at his dad's house-which is where the dog sitter was! Anywho- the car went "KAPUT" and he had to be picked up by his sister- who was heading over to our house anyway with her daughter 'cause we were carpooling down to Sun River together. Which, thank God, since the only other car we would have been able to drive was...at the moment undrivable! Why us?!

August 16th-23rd: Our vacation down in Sun River...which, for me, was not really a vacation. Doing everything (plus some) that I normally do at home. It was fun to see the kids have fun, they got to ride a horse, play in the hot tub, (we all had a waterballoon fight!) Spent lots of time at the mall... and playing wii bowling and guitar hero, and celebrating James' 28th Birthday! We had lots of great meals, and fun evenings playing UNO!
James, of course, had to be back in Montana the day after we got home, which meant he was in bed by 7pm...which came after fixing the car that had sat for a week at his parents house! But he got it done and everything worked out!

August 26th: Chrissy, (my sister in law,the kids aunt, and James' sister) came over to watch Ben and Angela so that I could take Taty to see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, which I had promised we would go see sometime during the summer! We had a great time and it convinced me to read the series!
This also happened to be that Taty was going back home :-( Which also meant that it was almost back to school time...ugh...which then meant the end of my maternity leave and Ben would be starting at daycare :-( :-(

August 31st: I went into work for a few hours (with the kids... yikes) Needless to say I didn't get much done, but it was nice to see some familar faces!

September 2nd: I went into work (without kids :-( Ben had half a day at daycare) More productive then the time before but busy, busy, busy!

September 5th: In honor of my bestest friend, Stefanie who was getting married, she was having a whole weekend Wedding fun! To kick it off we (My sister,Jenny, and I) joined them for some Karaoke! We had a blast! We sang duet on all of the songs! To kick it off we sang some Ace Of Base- Don't Turn Around, we also sang The Distance, by Cake and for our finale we sang the theme song to Fresh Prince of Belair...which I must admit was a huge success! Everyone joined in on that song!!

September 6th: This was rehearsal for Stef's wedding! Although, the weather was questionable, the sun did come up long enough to practice going through the motions of what we would be doing tomorrow! We had a blast at the dinner, great company, visiting and seeing people I hadn't seen in a while!

September 7th: Stefanie and Zach's Wedding Day! This day was a blast! I was so happy and excited for the two of them! Stefanie looked gorgeous! I can't believe the day came and went as fast as it did! After the 2 second ceremony, I joined James, mom and Jen at a table! We chatted enjoyed great company, delicious food, and very tasty beer! James even danced with me once! It was a great time! The only bummer was that James was leaving the next day very early the next morning...which meant we had to call it an early night :-( The next day was also the first day of school for Angela...and Ben's first full day at daycare... and I was back to work...I had so many emotions going through me I didn't know what to think. I didn't sleep very well that night either.

September 8th- Angela's first day of school- since this was also my first day back to work, I was unable to take Angela to school :-( But I asked my sister if she would be able to, so, thankfully she did! Angela did great, and she even took pictures for me! I still can't believe that 5 years have gone by so fast.
So, I dropped Angela off at Jen's and then made my way to daycare to drop off Ben for his first full day of daycare... Needless to say, I was a wreck in the car on my way to work(not a car wreck). It was the first time in a long time that I looked in the back of my car and there were no kids. I cried.
After dropping Ben off at daycare I made my way to work. The first day back... it was INSANE! Since the budget cuts- I was not paid to be back the week before. Which meant no time to meet with the teacher that I work with to discuss schedules and what not. The few days that I was there to help set up the classroom was me volunteering my time...
Anyway, so as soon as I get there I get thrown about a zillion different schedules...it was insanity. I did make it through, barely. But knowing what I had ahead of me at home was scary.
Since James was gone at work in Montana, it was just the kids and I. I was exhausted! After picking the kids up from daycare and finding that Ben had a rough day...didn't sleep much, and ate great...I was hesitant for the night. Well, I made it through that, but it was hard.
By Thursday, just talking to James on the phone, I cried again. But not because I was sad...but because I was just overwhelmed. Too many things were happening at once and I was by myself.
Thankfully James did talk to his boss and was able to get his route changed earlier than we had expected. He's the only person that has a young family and is gone 3-4 days/week. Now that doesn't seem very fair to anyone involved. So, I only have to deal with having him gone for another 2 weeks...I can do it, I can do it!

September 10th-12th: We had Tatyana this weekend and we had a blast! On Saturday we went to the Clackamas County Fairgrounds for a work picnic (for my dad's company- he unfortunatley was not able to make it, so we went without him)
The whole day was free! We had fun riding the fun rides, enjoying delicious food (BBQ burgers, hotdogs, chicken, corn on the cob, salads, elephant ears, ice cream, snow cones...and much much more) we got our faces painted, and went to the petting zoo, they rode on a carriage pulled by a horse! It was a fun filled day! We were all pretty exhausted by the end of the day.
Afterwards, we stopped off at my parents to drop off Jenny who also came with us, and then headed out to James' s mom's house for birthday celebrations! It was a very fun and active weekend!

September 14th-18th: Work, work, work all day long...

Really looking foward to the time I get to spend with my husband...just might have to wait one week (that's my birthday) to get some time alone with him! Oh well, I'll wait, it'll be worth it!
Well that's all for now! Happy reading! I'll try to stay more caught up- but I haven't been logging on everyday. So just to for warn you!

Update...sort of..

Big update to come soon...but I promised the girls a picnic in the park...so I have to keep my promise! So, we're off to do our picnic, play at the park and check out some books at the library!!

Getting busy...

Okay...so I've signed on here for like the first time in a long time :-(

It bums me out because I have all these intentions of doing things, or at least staying on top of things.... Oh well, someday!

Anyway, so to update people who actually read this...Tatyana (my step-daughter) is now with us for the Summer...well as of July 22nd. I've been making sure that the girls are having fun and keeping up on their responsibilites around the house. (Which is hard for me 'cause I like things done a certain way!) Anyway, that's going pretty well!

They had Vacation Bible School the 23-25th. Angela was really uncertain of this and they almost called me to come pick her up 'cause she was crying and really missing me (Awww...can I just hold onto that Angela for EVER!) However, she came home feeling pretty awful...I thought maybe it was heat exhaustion...gave her something to help her head, made her drink tons of water and later that night she was feeling much better. The next night however she spiked a fever of 104.2 (Which I took as soon as we got home 'cause she was burning up) I called the doctor immediatley (of course by this time the answering service was picking up and I had to wait for a call from the on call physician) Well, we couldn't wait and James took her to the ER 'cause her fever wouldn't go down. Turns out she had a U.T.I (urinary tract infection...) I was astonished...had know idea she was feeling bad...so, anywho...we keep her "home" from VBS so we can make sure she is drinking her water and going potty regularly.

We returned to the church for the BBQ and community service project we were doing for LOVEinc. which was a lot of fun!

The girls had a doctors appointment on that following Tuesday...which is where I find out that

#1 Tatyana is exactly 1 inch shorter than me...(gulp)

#2 Angela really doesn't have a UTI... (uh oh- I hope she did not contaminate 50 plus people by being at VBS and the BBQ... (She infact did not contaminate anyone...no one else got sick. Thank God!)

James and I celebrated our Summer Wedding Anniversary on July 31st...but we didn't really do anything...actually we did the opposite of being along! We had our niece, Taylor, spend the night so the girls could have a slumber party! They had fun complete with some "loaded chocolate peanut butter cup" ice cream! Yummy!

Since we have now entered August (Yikes I can't believe it!) it seems like time is passing even faster than before! Ben is now 3 months old...and he is getting more and more social each day! He really likes to "play the drums"! My sister started making the drum music (Ton Locs Wild Thing) and Ben got the biggest smile on his face! Now everytime we do that he just starts smiling and giggling!

Angela will be starting school in about a month (ahhhh) and Tatyana will be going into 5th grade...seriously where does the time go?

Yesterday, Tuesday August 4th, James and I found out that he will be driving the Montana route for another month. I'm really bummed about that. He leaves early (1-2am) Monday morning and doesn't get back till either Wednesday or Thursday evening :-(

It totally takes time out of our weekend...'cause he has to be in bed by 5pm and then it's just me and the kids 'til he gets back...oh well, it's good for the pocket book for right now...and since I recently found out that I will NOT be getting a pay check this month ('cause of my maternity leave...blah,blah,blah and 'cause BSD just couldn't get their act together and give me a simple straight answer) Anywho...

Oh, when I wrote that I was going to be posting this big update on our lives so far since the last time I wrote something...we were going to the park for a picnic...yea my car didn't start...so we walked to Shute Park...it only took us about 28 minutes and we found the nearest picnic table and ate our lunch...we were STARVING! The kids did enjoy it though!
What's weird was as we were headed to the playground I saw one of my students from 2 years ago...and then soon realized that she was with 2 other students that had moved away 2 years ago...1 of them lives down the street from AND is good friends with the boy across the street...GULP! He seems to have grown up (keyword seems) so I'm hoping my house won't get TPed or egged...he was not one of our best students...
Ahhh...keep getting off track...anyway, the girls had a great time playing! We then walked to the library and checked out a few books...We had a longer walk back home ('cause we were exhausted!) and all of us relaxed when we got home!

We are getting ready for our vacaction to Sun River, and while it's very exciting I'm also getting very anxious...there is so much to do, and I never seem to have enough time to do it all in! The girls will be going to sports camp a few days this week, then they are off to go camping with their Grandparents and Aunts and Uncle so I know I will be able to get my house completely cleaned and have it stay that way for more than an hour!!!! I just wish (and this is the only time you will hear me say this) I could fast forward to being in Sun River, and relaxing in the hot tub, going on fun bike rides and enjoying an ice cream cone from Goody's! Ahhhh, I can taste it now!

Well, now that I'm up to date...I'm gonna hit the sack!

Photo Shoot @ Sears!

Before discovering that a good friend of mine is taking up photography (she is actually coming over tomorrow- July 18th to do a photo shoot with the whole Fam, YAY!) we scheduled an appointment to have pics done at Sears. Our main reason was, at Good Sam they DON'T have a professional come to your room and take pics since "Everyone these days has a digital camera" pssh...that's crap! But also, since Ben was in the NICU for 8 days and on house arrest for a long time we didn't get to capture some of those poses you would if you were able to go somewhere and have pics done...so we FINALLY did! It was a lot of fun! After Church on the 12th we headed over to Washington Square and actually enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Cheesecake Factory (YUM!) and had enough time to nurse him and still be early at Sears...well, unlucky for us (and the photographer) Sears was NOT on time! They were running 15 minutes late...UGH! Bentley was a perfect Angel the 15 minutes that would have been our time for getting the pics taken...but since he had been very patient he was getting sleepy and crabby! We managed to get some really cute pics in between holding and comforting him! He was so sweet, some asleep and some awake! So, precious! James even got to do the pose he had been longing to do for so long!

It was a great experience and I can't wait to pick them up on the 28th! I posted a few (above- hey can anyone tell me how to post pictures BELOW my blog?) I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

A Baby "Showing"!

On Saturday July 11th was Bentley's "showing"! We called it a showing since well, #1 he was already born and present at the shower...I mean "showing" and #2 because he had some complications when he was first born( we were put on house arrest for a while 6-8 weeks). So a lot of our friends and family didn't see him until this day!
It was a ton of fun! Thanks to Chrissy (sister in law), Mom and Jen (sister) it was a huge success! The food and company was fantastic! Complete with, my favorite, GAMES and CAKE! Yummy!
The first game the guests played was a "How many words/names can you create out of :Bentley James Schulz" it was a ton of fun...and I had one guest tell me that they were still working on it when they got home!!! The second game was more of a "Trivia/Fun Facts" about the pregnancy,Bentley and Bentley's hospital stay...lot's of fun questions that EVERYONE that received an E-vite through facebook would have known answers to had they looked at my pictures! Hehehe, I'm so tricky! It was a lot of fun and people learned a lot too! (Look at me going with an educational themed "Showing"!)
It was also fun to open the gifts for Bentley...we had lot's of themed gifts...Football, cowboy, socks! So, so cute! Thank you to everyone that was able to make it!
The best part out of it all was being able to show him off, the healthy baby that he is today!!! For that we are very Blessed by God, and forever Thankful!
Thank you for all of your prayers!

Mama's got a new car!!! Part 2

That's right...a new engine! Do any of you, that actually read this, know how much that kind of work cost these days?! LOTS OF MONEY! We would have been better off just buying a new car! Well, that was DEFINITELY not in the cards for us. James was only working 3 days a week, me 7 months pregnant...who would hire me (for a second job to PAY for the new car)?! Thankfully we have wonderful family who helped us out! Once we found an engine that had been "rebuilt" it was just a matter of installing it! Praise God, that James, his dad and step-dad knew what they were doing...for the most part! The catch was...when, when the heck were all three of them going to find the time to work on the car and what the heck were we going to do for a second car?!
Well, again, Praise God that James' father had 3 cars and we were able to borrow one of them! Problem 1 solved! Now, when would MY car get fixed?! Well, it was a very slow process- trying to work on it on the weekends. Since James was out of town Tuesday-Thursday. Then with Bentley coming earlier than expected and being in the hospital longer than expected it just kept setting us back. Well, needless to say it finally was finished on Thursday July 9th!
James has since been driving it to work...just in case! He didn't want me to have it with the two kids and then have something happen to it! So far so good though! It drove soooooo nice, like a brand new car! The next thing to get fixed (or rather charged) is the "freeon"? (not sure on the spelling) anyway, it's so my air conditioning will be colder than what it was, YAY!
I am very excited, and very thankful to everyone that helped us out with it. We could not have done it without you! Thank you!

Mama's gotta a new car!!! Part 1

...Ok, not really a new car...but MY car is finally finished! New engine and all!

For those of you that don't know the story:

Back in February, Tuesday February 17th to be exact (don't ask how I remember that it's embarassing!) Angela and I ventured out to Target around 7pm. I started the car, and it sounded a little funny, but nothing that was alarming 'cause it was vibrating pretty bad once you'd start every once in a while and once you start driving it goes away. Anyway, so I started the car and it sounded funny but I thought nothing of, thinking it would go away after I hit the gas a bit. Well, it certainly did not. Instead of heading home I continued on to Target...praying and hoping that this horrible sound now was going to go away...well it didn't, in fact...it got a bit worse. It sounded like it was going crap out on me in the middle of an intersection on T.V highway. I was so nervous, but at this point I was closer to Target than home so I continued on and parked. Now, you're probably thinking...why didn't you call James or have him come listen to it to figure out what was going on...HA! I did do that...however, I had to do it over 1,000 miles away. Yea, that's right he was in Idaho...So, I call him and let him "try" and listen to the car...I had the hood up, am on the phone in the parking lot, I have my 4 year old still in the car when I see an Angel! I quickly told James that I had to go and dashed across the parking lot...there 2 parking spots across the lot is one of my co-workers and her HUSBAND! I very desperatley ask if he can lend a hand and help me maybe figure out what I should do with my car. So, he comes and listens and isn't really sure what I should do but suggests something simple and something that I could buy at Target. He even talked to my hubby, who I had to call back and explain why I had hung up so abruptly! So, I purchase what he thinks I need to make the car stop making this horendous noise and proceed to put it in my car. By the way I had like 5 people ask if I needed any help...as I was a woman, pregnant, hysterical, with a 4 year old and, did I already mention hysterical?! I was freaking out! After my great attempt failed I called James back who told me to call my father'n'law and ask him if he could come out and take a look at the car.

So, I call very desperate for anything and of course, he's practically out the door and on his way before I say anything more.

In the mean time I call my parents('cause they have AAA) to ask if *key word* IF (ok, so I was being really optimistic) I needed to be towed if they could call AAA for m and drive me home. Of course they say yes I just need to tell them when!

Anywho, so my Father'n'law shows up, I start the car, and then he looks at me with the most saddened depressed look EVER...shoot this can't be good news...yea, it wasn't good news...in fact it was worse news then I was anticipating...(so I was only being half optimistic before...) His, advice without taking anything apart, tow the car home...'cause my engine is DEAD. Of course I'm thinking ok...how do we fix it...his answer..."Buy a new engine..." GULP

I wanted to scream!

To be continued...

Girls Day Out!!

So, on Thursday July 2nd, we actually did it! We had a girls day!
Kelly,Shirl and I had a blast! We started our Girls Day with a much needed lunch! (I thought Shirlyn's tummy was going to swallow us all whole...ah yes, the joys of pregnancy! ) We decided to enjoy the delicious food of The Cheesecake Factory...since the two of them had never been there AND we were going to mall anyways! Oh, it was soooooo good! I decided to try something different (since I have been there a few times...ok...I'll be honest this trip to the CCF was actually my 6th visit...don't judge me!) I enjoyed a delicious salad that was FABULOUS!
After our delicious lunch we, of course, had to enjoy some delicous cheesecake! (Thank God I could eat some dairy again!!!!) I ordered their "special" Pineapple upside down cheesecake, YUM! Kelly ordered a Kaluha chocolate cheesecake...double YUM!! Shirlyn ordered this apple carmel pecan cheesecake...YUM,YUM,YUM!!!! We all shared, taking a few bites and then passing it on!! Oh, it was heaven I tell you! Thanks again Kelly!
Afterwards, we wandered the mall a bit...and we all actually bought stuff...which is weird for me...'cause I hate shopping!
I had a blast and Ben cooporated the entire time! He slept all through lunch and through most of our shopping...I stopped to nurse him once (which they have a special breastfeeding room near the restrooms there- AMAZING!!) Then he fell back to sleep until we got back home and I had to feed him again!
Once we got back home, Kelly had to head to work, but Shirlyn and I made our way back to my house where Angela (not my daughter) was waiting! The three of us got to continue the fun through the night...well, fun for us! We did a lot of catching up complete with an (almost) midnight pizza!
I'd love to do these Girls Day at least once a month! Let's see if we can't make it happen!
Thanks Girls for a great day and night!

4th of July

So, we had a great 4th of July weekend! James got to enjoy his Friday off AND today! He has NEVER had a 4 door weekend...well at least not since that huge snow storm we had in 2004! It's been fun to have him home!!

We had a great time at the BBQ at my in laws! Tatyana was with us this weekend and it's always nice to have her during these fun times! We enjoyed some delicious food...that of course...I ate a ton of! I seriously can't seem to get enough of food! I am just sooooo hungry (and thirsty) for anything and everything! (OH...and if I didn't inform you from before I am now able to have cheese and ice cream in my diet!!! THANK GOD!)

As each day passes I am ever more thankful for being blessed with Bentley! He is the EASIEST baby! (Complete opposite of Angela!) He did great being passed around at the BBQ. In fact when it came time to eat he just looked around at everyone at the table while I held him and ate! It was great!

When it came time for fireworks...I started getting nervous...I wasn't sure how he would react...

Well, first of all as soon as we started blowing things up his Great Uncle Tom was very eager to hold him...he wanted another baby fix for the day! So, after a quick diaper change, Uncle Tom was holding him! He was so protective of him, which was adorable! Keeping him covered, and shielding his ears...that is until he totally passed out in his arms...yea, that's right! My son was alseep...outside...on the 4th of July!!! It was fantastic! As much as I didn't want to, I would have stayed inside and watched fireworks through a window...but there was no need, he did great!

So, I've decided it is true what they say about second babies...they ARE easier!

I hope everyone enjoyed their 4th of July weekend!

It's already July?!

I can't believe today is July 1st, 2009...seriously where has the time gone? I know I keep mentioning how fast time is going by and while you may be sick of hearing about it I just can't believe it!
When you're a kid it seems like time moves so slow. You count the days 'till Christmas, Your birthday, and summer vacation. Once you hit college the days seem to pass really fast, next thing you know your graduating and starting your career...it's not just a job anymore! Now you have the pleasure of re-paying student loans and, if you haven't already, looking for that special someone. Once you realize that you want to spend the rest of your life with them (which took no time for me!). Then it's wedding planning, which soon passes you by. Then planning for the birth of a baby! While then that soon passes you by you're left wondering what else is there to look forward to...?Well I'm here to tell you that from there on out you live through your kids experiences! New things they do and discover, it's like re-living those childhood days all over again! But once you start "re"- living those days with your children those days start to pass you by...
I'm not sure what God has in store for my life or the lives of my children but I know that I just live each day one moment at a time!

Slow down...please?

So, as of June 25th my son Bentley is 2 months old...I wish I could say that I am excited...but to be honest, I'm actually sad that time is going by so fast :-(
On Friday he had his 2 month check up...so now he is 11lbs 4oz and 22 1/4" long...AHHHH, he's so big compared to his 7lbs and 20.5" long at birth!
Bentley has come a long way! He was very sick when he was first born and spent 8 days in the NICU. Today, he is a very healthy boy with a great set of lungs! He is getting more on a regular feeding schedule which is fabulous! I love breastfeeding...it is so easy and natural! It also means that I am "on call" all of the time...which I really don't mind, it just gets very demanding. Especially the older he gets...'cause we're not exactly sure how much he is eating...so when I was out seeing RENT the other night James calls in a panic (the breastmilk wasn't defrosting fast enough for my hungry boy!) So, I had to come home right after the show...it is nice to also have someone so dependent on you.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing the new things he will be doing...but I'm also in no hurry! Life just needs to slow down...

RENT!!!

So, as my "giving birth to our son" present my husband bought my ticket to RENT! I went with Stef and her sister Laura and we had a blast!
Now, I have been listening to RENT since my freshman year in highschool and I've seen the show once before when they came to Portland! But this time was different...not only was it starring two of the original cast members, it was with two of my favorite original cast members! Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal!
When the show started it was AMAZING! I felt like I had to keep pinching myself, I have been listening to their voices on my cd for 13 years. It was surreal to hear AND SEE them at the same time! But the whole time I was thinking...oh man, the show is almost over... :-( I would never hear and see them perform as Mark and Roger AGAIN :-(
The show was amazing entirely! Afterwards, we went out to the stage door (where tons of other women were waiting for the actors to leave!) needless to say I got Anthony Rapp's autograph and snapped a picture of him!!! After waiting for like 20 more minutes and no sign of Adam we decided to leave. I was really bummed that he didn't come out while we were there. After hearing stories from few other people who saw the show before and after us they never saw Adam either...apparently he's a diva...well he missed quite a greeting!
All in all , AMAZING SHOW!!!

Father's Day...but it's about me!

So, a lot has happened since Angela's birthday party!

Father's Day: We had a great time at my parents house (James' Dad was in Disney World...lifes hard huh?!) The only bummer was my mom made a delicious lasagna...AND I COULDN'T EAT IT!!! That's right, since my breasfeeding son has a sensitive tummy, NO DAIRY FOR MOMMY!
I did however enjoy a delicious steak that was grilled for me...this no dairy can be a big bummer but I'm doing great! Plus, on top of the breastfeeding (which burns 500 calories/day) I've managed to lose all of my baby weight (which...sorry not to brag- wasn't that much) plus some! As soon as I get more time...(HA!) I'm going to head to the gym! I've got that wedding I'm in to prep for! Walking around the neighborhood just doesn't do it for me!

I suck...

Okay, so I started this blog in hopes that I would actually, you know, update people with what is going on in life...YEAH RIGHT!
I'm really sorry that I have neglected to update any of you who actually read this.
More to come...NOW!

Where was I...?

Ahh yes, so once you cross that barier from 2009 to 1966 you realize that it's about time they remodel the place. Of course they have all the things one would need for a trip to Skate World. Lots of glow sticks to purchase, socks (incase-God forbid- you forget yours...which I DON'T recommend. I would recommend however buying your own skates/blades...they are so NASTY to rent!) And lots of snacks to purchase at the snack bar!
While almost all of the kids did try to skate...the most surprising was as I was on my second time 'round here comes...my dad! Yea, that's right my dad was out there...and he wasn't just skating, he was roller blading...and he wasn't just roller blading...he was doing it BACKWARDS!!! It was great to see him out there though having fun with his grandkids!
Jen,Angela(friend not daughter) and I did the speed skate towards the end of the party, although speed was not what I had. I had been standing too long in my blades...(dishing out pizza, cupcakes, getting refills of pop in large pitchers...which yes, I still did in my roller blades...Jen and I laughed about that!!!) So I really should have relaced...oh well, I wasn't too bad out there! I just felt like I was going to fall with every turn. Plus it was my first real workout since having Bentley.
So after the speed skate they turn the music back on and Jen points out to me the most fantastic thing ever to hit the Skate World. Our session of skating came free with a professional skater entertainer. He popped right out of the 60's. He was a tall black man, wearing a striped shirt that had this glow to him as he skated under the disco ball in the center of the floor. Although there were tons of others skating, it was as though he was the only one on the floor. He was great! He did some pretty serious skating turns, he would start out forwards and turn himself backwards without even batting an eye! I thought it would have been perfect if he had a little can hanging from his belt for tips...he would have made a fortune!!! Once everyone from the party left Angela was out there skating and was dance skating with the man it was so ADORABLE!!!!
All in all the party was a great sucess. And if you ever want to go back to the 60's Skate World is the place to do it!
I'll post some pictures later...I'm having technical difficulties with uploading pics here...

Back in the days...

So, yesterday we celebrated Angela's 5th birthday at Skate World. Everyone that was able to make it seemed to have a great time! Some of Angela's friends were able to come, but only a few actually enjoyed skating! I feel very lucky to have the children that God blessed us with. They are eager and willing to try new things. Although, this was Angela's second time roller skating...and it had been since December that she had done it last, she was still very exciting to watch. She did a great job! Tatyana also did really well. She started off slow, on her own roller blades! But by the end of the day she was cruising faster and had backed off from the wall!!

I have to tell you...not much has changed since Middle School...(one of the last times I had ever been to a Skate World for pleasure) The outside of every Skate World looks the same from a far...abandoned...don't let this fool you. Most of the people that are at the skating rink can't acutally drive themselves-they get dropped off by mom or dad!
When you first walk in the bright 60s retro design on the carpet will have your head spinning you won't know down from up! They have the ghetto ticket booth with the glass that has those stupid holes through it where you can only hear if you put your ear up to it AND you watch the persons lips move while they are talking...not an easy task my friend! As you make your way, with your skate rental ticket in hand, you enter the yellow frosted glass doors into the...

Okay, I obviously suck at this...it's 12:51 am and I never finished...I got too busy...so I promise I'll finish...well later today!

To do or not to do...

So, I decided today that I should get on this "blogging" train that everyone seems to be doing. I really enjoy reading other peoples, however, I fear that I won't be as entertaining. So please give me feedback on my blogs and encourage me to keep blogging!

My real focus of wanting to blog is because I am so terrible at a lot of things. For example, when a friend calls me and leaves a message to call them back, I don't. Not because I don't want to but simply because I can never find the opportunity to. (Of course that was before I had unlimited talk on my cell phone...so I am getting better at that!) Another great example is when it comes to sending people updated pictures of my family...number one I never have them 'cause they are either still on the camera or I've downloaded them to the computer and they are not a disk that I can print out. So, my whole intention of doing this blog thing is to update people about my life and the life of my family...with the added bonus of pictures!

Since I am now officially done with my maternity leave and now on Summer vacation I have more time to devote to this and

So, as I close my very first blog I want to also ask those who have a blog to help me figure this stuff out on here!!!

Stay tuned for more to come!
